Check this out....one of our Co-ops was faced with wire down across a very swollen river (one of many) last week.  The Fleming-Mason guys decided to try to use a drone to run a line across the Licking River on Friday. They tied a light fishing line on the drone and flew it over.  They tied a heavier line on the fishing line and reeled it back - once for primary; once for neutral.  After both lines were across the river, they tied them to the new wire and pulled them up.

Video then shows views of a camera mounted on the drone.  May be a pretty handy tool in the future.

The drone belongs to their I.T. guy who is a gadget king - he's always inventing new tools, etc.
