Some light freezing rain possible today across parts SD, MN, WI, MI & PA, WV, MD. Accumulations in the 0.05” to 0.13” range. Current SPIA Index Ice Impact Forecast for Utilities is still at Level 0. Some smooth surface roads & highways could become slick & hazardous in parts of above mentioned states over the next 6 to 36 hours.

Long term Temperature and Precipitation Forecasts from the Climate Prediction Center indicate some much colder temperatures for eastern half of U.S. from January 4 thru 17. Mostly above average or near average temps between December 28 and January 4.

Above average or near average Precipitation amounts forecast across the northern half of the Lower 48 between now and January 4, according to CPC long-term forecasts.
