Tropical Storm Debby continues to drop copious amounts of excessive rainfall across parts of GA, SC & now NC this morning. Rainfall totals over the next 3 days could be over 20” (or more) in some areas, as TS Debby begins moving north-northeast up the Atlantic seaboard. North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey are all forecast to receive significant rainfall totals from this ongoing storm.

According to the website PowerOutage.US this morning, electric co-ops in Florida have approximately 66,893 outages due to Debby; in Georgia, that total is approximately 8,450 outages; and, according to South Carolina’s outage map, their co-ops have approximately 2,659 outages. Total outages this morning in those 3 states are 78,000. Co-op Mutual Aid crews and contract construction crews will continue their work to restore power to all those impacted by Debby over the next several days. BE SAFE!!!

A tropical wave currently over the east-central Caribbean Sea is expected to continue its movement to the west-northwest over the next several days. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) gives this disturbance a 30% chance of further development over the next 7 days. Current forecast models bring this disturbance across the Yucatan Peninsula and into the Bay of Campeche in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico in 7 to 9 days. This will be a system to watch over the next couple of weeks.
