Hurricane Lee goes through eye wall replacement, re-intensifies to a Category 3 hurricane with sustained winds of 120 mph. Slows to 7 mph crawl to the northwest. Sidney Sperry 11 Sep 2023 10:12 UTC
Hurricane Lee will begin impacting east coast states this week, with high and dangerous coastal surf conditions and strong, dangerous rip currents. Small Craft Advisories have been issued for coastal areas of North Carolina. By Friday, coastal NC could have winds in the 30 to 40 mph range as Lee moves northward toward Nova Scotia.

“Spaghetti Models” still show some impacts possible for a few New England states, like MA, NH and ME, but consensus is growing that Lee will most likely impact Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and possibly Newfoundland by next weekend.

Meanwhile, areas of West Texas are under Severe Thunderstorm advisories today. LIMITED Severe Thunderstorm Risk for parts NM and TX today; includes LIMITED High Winds Risk and LIMITED Hail Risk.
