NHC upgrades Tropical Depression 13 to Tropical Storm “Lee,” with sustained winds of 45 mph. Potential for Lee to become a very powerful major hurricane by Friday afternoon. Interests in the Northern Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic should closely monitor this storm for potential impacts this weekend… Sidney Sperry 05 Sep 2023 22:10 UTC
Latest forecast updates from the NHC and from Dr. Levi Cowan at TropicalTidbits.com on now Tropical Storm “Lee.” Most ‘spaghetti models’ have Lee’s forecast track staying away from the east coast, but a few outlier models have Lee’s track moving closer to coastal areas of FL, GA, SC, NC & VA. Still need to watch this storm closely as it is expected to become a very powerful Category 4 or Category 5 hurricane as it rapidly intensifies after reaching very warm waters east-southeast of the Leeward Islands.
