“Let Earth Receive Her King!” Sidney Sperry 25 Dec 2022 10:46 UTC
Good Sunday Morning to all, and, MERRY CHRISTMAS! Jesus IS the reason for the season!

Included this morning are the Monthly Temperature Outlooks and Monthly Precipitation Outlooks for the month of January. Higher Probability percentages for Below Normal Temperatures are largely confined to the North Central Region, per forecasts from the National Climate Center. And, there are Higher Probability Percentages for Above Normal Precipitation across the Northwest Region, North Rockies Region, and the Great Lakes Area of the Northeast Region.

Unfortunately, it appears that Extreme to Exceptional Drought will continue through the month of January in the South Central Region and Southwest Region. The current U.S. Drought Monitor map shows the extent of the ongoing severe drought in these areas.

Lastly, here are forecast overview maps for the CONUS today, December 25th, Monday, December 26th, and Tuesday, December 27th, from the NWS Weather Prediction Center. Note the possibility of light freezing rain and snow across much of the North Central and South Central Region today, as well as heavier icing in the Northwest Region, along with very heavy snow in mountainous and higher elevation areas.

By Monday, heavy rain moves into northern CA, as freezing rain continues in WA & OR. Snow moves into the Mid-Atlantic states and Northeast Region on Monday and Tuesday.

Merry Christmas everyone!
