Remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole will begin moving northeast through GA, SC, NC, VA, WV, MD, and eventually through the New England states by the end of this weekend. Heavy rainfall, flooding and flash flooding will be the main concerns, as well as high winds in the higher elevation areas of northern GA and western NC. A Tornado Watch is currently active for parts southeastern GA, eastern SC, and southeastern NC. A Flood Watch is in place for the higher elevation areas of northeastern GA, western NC, and western VA. Up to 8” of rain is forecast for those areas.
A Blizzard Warning and Ice Storm Warning are active across the North Central Region.
From 4” to 12” of Snow is forecast for parts ND, MN, northern WI, the MI Upper Peninsula, northern MI, western NY and northwestern PA.
High Winds in the forecast for higher elevation areas of NC, VA, WV, upstate NY, northern VT and northern NH.
Much colder morning (7am CDT) temperatures next 4 days across much of the U.S.
