FYI…
This will likely be my last update on now Post Tropical Cyclone “Ian,” which has left devastation and destruction in its wake, from western Cuba, through Florida, and now into South Carolina and North Carolina. The NHC has downgraded Ian to a Post Tropical Cyclone with sustained winds of 60 mph or less. It is expected to become a Post Tropical Depression with winds less than 39 mph by early Saturday afternoon.
Tropical Storm Warnings are still in effect for parts of the northeastern SC coast and all of the NC coastline. As Ian becomes sub-tropical, its forward speed has increased to 15 mph. Winds should be diminishing overnight and throughout the morning.
There is a Tornado Watch over parts northeastern NC and southeastern VA that will likely last until the early morning hours Saturday.
Rainfall amounts from 1” up to 6”+ are possible across parts NC, VA, WV, MD, DE, NJ and PA over the next 48 hours. Moderate chance of Flash Flooding across parts SC, NC, VA & WV.
