Another Round of Wintry Precipitation Possible Thursday Through Saturday Across Eastern U.S. (See Euro Model Simulated Radar & Precipitation Types Below) Sidney Sperry 18 Jan 2022 14:25 UTC
Once again, it looks like the eastern U.S. is the target if yet another round of wintry weather, starting late Wednesday in parts of AR and moving east into parts of TN, KY, VA, WV, SC, NC and GA throughout the day Thursday. Even parts of MS & AL could get a wintry mix (shown in PINK in forecast images below; snow is in BLUE, RAIN in green).

By Friday, another Cold Front brings colder air to the northeast and southeast, increasing the chances of freezing rain, sleet, and snow throughout many of the same states that endured similar weather this past weekend (Sunday thru Monday, Jan. 16-17)

Graphics below are from the European Model (ECMWF). Forecast amounts of various precipitation types will become more defined over the next couple of days. Just wanted to share this possibility with everyone. I’ll share more NWS forecasts in the days ahead leading up to the Friday through Sunday period. - Sid Sperry
