FYI… first major winter storm of the New Year 2022 for U.S. mid-section. Up to 0.38” of ice is currently in the NWS forecast for parts KS and IL. Heavy snow from 2” up to 10” for northern KS, northern MO, southern NE, southern IA, northern IL, and southern MI.
Heavy rainfall is expected across the Southeast over the next 72-hrs as well. From 1” up to 4” of rain is being forecast by the NWS for parts of northern AR, southeastern MO, northern TN, east-central AL, northern GA, far western SC, western NC, western VA, much of the state of KY, and southern IL, IN and OH, plus western & central WV.
