Heavy rain and flooding/flash flooding continue in both LA and MS this morning as the remnants of Hurricane Nicholas continue to move east along areas of southern LA. This rainfall event will likely continue in LA, MS and parts of AL through tomorrow.
Disturbance #2 (shown below in NHC graphics) is slowly continuing to develop north of the Bahamas this morning, and NHC forecasters are now giving it a 70% chance of becoming either a Tropical Depression or a Tropical Storm - both potential precursors to a hurricane - within the next 5 days. While this system is currently expected to track to the north-northeast, it could still cause some impacts to the coastal areas of SC, NC, VA, MD and DE. Certainly a disturbance to watch closely over the next 5 days.
