Nicholas has now been downgraded to a Tropical Storm after making landfall at about 12:30am this morning as a Category 1 hurricane near Sargent, TX. Wind gusts as high as 95 mph were recorded near Matagorda Bay, and storm surge of 5’ to 6’ is reported in some areas.
