FYI… Disturbance currently over the Yucatán Peninsula will likely move into the western or central Gulf of Mexico by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Current models suggest a turn to the north-northeast shortly after the disturbance moves into the Gulf. If model projections verify, there could be significant rainfall along the Gulf Coast from southeastern LA to the western FL Panhandle by late next week.
Sustained surface winds of 58 to 80 mph from Hurricane Larry will likely brush Bermuda by Thursday morning of next week. Larry is currently a major hurricane with sustained winds of 125 mph (Category 3 on the Safire-Simpson Scale). The only current threat to the coastal northeast is the potential for large ocean swells by the middle of next week.
