Hurricane “Larry” now a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 mph; it is forecast to become a major hurricane within the next few days… Sidney Sperry 02 Sep 2021 11:53 UTC
FYI… Tropical Storm Larry developed into Hurricane Larry overnight. Sustained winds are now 75 mph. Larry’s movement is still west at 20 mph. It is forecast to begin a slight northwestward turn on Friday while also strengthening into a major hurricane with sustained winds increasing to more than 110 mph. The island of Bermuda could still possibly be impacted as early as Tuesday or Wednesday of next week, first with tropical storm force winds. Increasing winds could threaten Bermuda by mid-week next week. Interests on the east and northeastern coastal states should continue to monitor Hurricane Larry closely over the next 5 to 7 days. - Sid Sperry
