FYI… the 4:00am forecast updates from Dr. Levi Cowan, the NHC, and NWS. Hurricane Ida is now a Category 4 hurricane, with winds between 140 and 145 mph in its northeast quadrant. Ida’s track has again shifted slightly to the east. This will be an extremely powerful and devastatingly damaging hurricane as it begins to come ashore later today.
Note that surge heights have been increased for much of the LA, MS, AL and now FL coastlines. NWS still predicting up to 20”+ rainfall in some areas.
