Latest NHC Forecast Updates on Tropical Storm “Henri”…
Sidney Sperry 21 Aug 2021 12:48 UTC
FYI… Henri is now expected to take a bit more of a northwesterly turn into western Connecticut and southeastern New York after landfall on Sunday afternoon. This will mean heavier rainfall for parts of Long Island, NY, northern NJ, western CT, western MA, and southeastern NY, in some areas up to 10”+. Landfall is currently forecast to be near the middle of Long Island, NY, although that track could change slightly over the next 36 hours. It is expected that Henri will make landfall as either a high-end Tropical Storm, or as a Category 1 hurricane, with winds in the 74 to 100 mph range. Winds should diminish fairly quickly after landfall, but could still be Tropical Storm Force (=/> 39 mph) on Monday and Tuesday as the storm exits toward Nova Scotia. - Sid Sperry
