Hurricane Elsa will likely impact Hispaniola, Haiti, parts of the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Cuba this weekend, as a Category 1 or Category 2 Hurricane. It’s interactions as it moves over Cuba will most likely influence both its strength, and its future track as it nears south Florida. As highlighted, interests in Florida, southeastern Georgia, and the South Carolina coast should begin preparations for at least Tropical Storm Force Winds, and possibly Category 1 Hurricane Winds exceeding 74 mph. Parts of south Florida could begin seeing some impacts from Elsa as early as Sunday evening, July 4th.
