FYI... Local NWS Forecast Offices (New Orleans/Baton Rouge and Mobile/Pensacola) and NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center are forecasting some heavy rainfall totals for parts of LA, MS, AL and the FL Panhandle over this weekend, beginning Friday afternoon or evening and continuing through Sunday night. Rainfall amounts currently being forecast range from 3” up to 10” in some areas (3rd graphic below, area circled in Yellow). This forecast is associated with the Tropical Disturbance currently in the Bay of Campeche, which is forecast to begin moving north-northeast by Wednesday or Thursday. Preparations are in order for a heavy rainfall event over this weekend along the coastal and southern areas of LA, MS, AL, and the western FL Panhandle. - Sid Sperry
