First named tropical storm of the season... Ana... no threat to Continental U.S.

FYI...
The first tropical storm (actually a sub-tropical storm) of the 2021 Hurricane Season (which does not “officially” begin until June 1st!) has arrived. Sub-tropical storm Ana formed yesterday northeast of Bermuda, and has slowly drifted west-southwest. Upper level steering currents will begin to move Ana to the northeast later today, and the first storm of the season will likely dissipate into a harmless trough over the next 48-60 hrs.
Meanwhile, a disturbance in the western Gulf of Mexico has come ashore along the south-central Texas coast, with some light to moderate rainfall affecting coastal areas this morning.
Neither of these systems represent a threatening risk to the Continental United States.
