FYI... The NOAA Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a high probability of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight into tomorrow morning over a large part of the south central and southeastern United States. The "Catagorical Outlook" from the SPC indicates that there is a Moderate (Level 4 of 5) Risk of strong thunderstorms to develop across far southeastern AR, far northeastern LA, and into central and southern MS this afternoon and evening, stretching into the overnight hours and Saturday morning. In the Enhanced areas (Level 3 of 5) as well as in the Moderate Risk areas, there will be a higher probability of large hail (golf ball to tennis ball sized hail), damaging winds (60 to 80 mph) and an elevated risk of tornadoes over the next 48 hours. The Enhanced and Moderate Risk areas include parts of eastern OK, northeastern TX, northern and northeastern LA, western and southern AR, nearly all of MS, and much of western AL.
