NHC Update on Tropical Storm Zeta... Sid Sperry 26 Oct 2020 20:42 UTC
All,

Sorry I wasn’t able to be on the call this afternoon - we are in the middle of an OCTOBER ICE STORM (historic) in Oklahoma today! (See outage map, last graphic.)

Tropical Storm Zeta is expected to reach hurricane status shortly, and will be moving into the Gulf of Mexico later today or early tomorrow. It is being projected to make landfall Wednesday night, possibly as a Category 1 Hurricane with winds in the mid 70 mph range (74-76 mph likely). The current centerline track is just east of New Orleans, LA, and just west of Gulfport, MS. Besides strong winds, Zeta will also bring rainfall amounts in the 4” to 6” range at minimum for parts of eastern LA, southern MS and AL, and parts of the FL western panhandle. - Sid Sperry, OAEC
