And... the year 2020 goes on... and on... and on! Ugh!

I wanted to provide all of you with the latest update from the National Hurricane Center on Invest 95L, a Tropical Disturbance in the Caribbean Sea and centered near the Cayman Islands this morning. NHC Forecasters give 95L a 90% chance of developing into a Tropical Depression soon, probably sometime today or tomorrow. It could also continue to develop into a Tropical Storm (Winds greater than 39 mph) over the next couple of days. If so, it would be the 27th named storm of this hurricane season, and would be called “Zeta.”

Current guidance from the “spaghetti models” suggests that, should 95L develop into a Tropical Storm, it will enter the Gulf of Mexico from southeast to northwest, then be pushed to the north and east by a high pressure system approaching from the west-northwest. While this system is NOT currently forecast to develop into a hurricane, it could bring gusty winds and heavy rainfall to several Gulf Coast states, including LA, MS, AL, and FL, possibly as early as Wednesday or Thursday of this next week. Just wanted to make everyone aware of this latest (and hopefully LAST!) Tropical System.
