FYI... Hurricane Delta now has Max Sustained Winds of 120 mph and is moving North at 12 mph. It is expected to make landfall later this evening as a Category 2 or possibly a Category 3 hurricane, with max Sustained Wind speeds between 95 and 115 mph. Landfall is forecast to be between Cameron, LA, and the White Lake area in south-central Louisiana. Jennings, LA - home to a Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative, lies just to the east of this latest forecast centerline of this hurricane.
Storm surge from 4’ up to 11’ is being forecast from Lake Calcasieu to Port Fourchon.
Storm Total Rainfall over the next 72-hours is forecast to be in the 4” up to 15” range, with those higher amounts to be in isolated areas of Louisiana. Western Mississippi and southeastern Arkansas will also receive heavy rainfall over the next 2-3 days, and some flooding and flash flooding should be expected. By early next week, the remnants of Delta will cause heavy rainfall in parts of western North Carolina, northern South Carolina, and northeastern Georgia. Some flooding and flash flooding are likely.
