As of 5pm EDT, Hurricane Delta is a Category 4 hurricane with max sustained winds of 145 mph and is moving west-northwest at 17 mph, toward the Yucatán Peninsula and Cancun. Once again, the NHC has shifted Delta’s track a bit further to the west, almost to Lafayette, LA. The NHC is also predicting 6” to 10”+ rainfall amounts for areas of south-central Louisiana. Max sustained winds at landfall late Friday night or early Saturday morning could be in the 95 to 125 mph range, with higher gusts. - Sid Sperry
