All,
Latest forecast updates from the National Hurricane Center indicate that Tropical Storm Gamma poses no threat to the southern Gulf region states at this time. However, there is a Tropical Wave currently located in the central Caribbean Sea that is forecast to develop into a Tropical Depression by sometime Monday. It’s movement is west-northwest at 10-15 mph. This system bears watching closely over the next 3-5 days, as it will likely enter the southern Gulf of Mexico by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Formation chances of becoming a Tropical Depression are now at 80 percent, as of 8am this morning. - Sid Sperry, OAEC
