A system in the Atlantic to keep an eye on, but 5 to 7 days from now... Sid Sperry 03 Sep 2020 23:33 UTC
All,

Just wanted to keep you updated about the latest developments in the Atlantic. There are now three tropical waves that have developed off the coast of Africa that National Hurricane Center Forecasters are keeping a close eye on. While Tropical Storms “Nana” and “Omar” are no longer threats to the United States, the NHC is predicting further development of Wave #2 (area in RED shade on map below) over the next 5 to 7 days. See forecaster comments below - I have highlighted them in blue in the second graphic. Formation chance through 5 days is “high,” and estimated at 70 percent. This will be one for us to keep an eye on, especially toward the end of next week.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the people of Louisiana, and with all personnel involved in the power restoration effort across that state. - Sid Sperry, OAEC
