Mike,
On our call yesterday, LA & MS were thinking the crews would head there on Tuesday morning. That would give Ida time to completely move out of the area and the coops time to assess damage & finalize housing/catering issues. MS should be getting FL crews but there is a possibility that our crews go straight to LA, just depending on need, damage, & availability of crews from other states.
We have another call at 10:00 this morning and will hopefully know more then or by this afternoon.
Sincerely,
Ray Trusik

Good morning Ray. Any word from the folks in LA? I was hoping to know something before the crews were too deep in things today.

Ray,
Talquin has 9 linemen, 3 buckets, 1 digger, and a supervisor ready to go for Ida. Do we need to post on the MA portal?
Best
Mike

Hello All,
As you know Hurricane Ida is headed into the Gulf and expected to hit Louisiana and/or Mississippi on Monday. We just got off a call with the Statewides of MS & LA and they currently have orders for a total of 900 men. They currently are not expecting to pre-stage but hope to have crews come in on Tuesday.
LA will use the same Covid precautions as last year. They may set up two tent cities like last year as the area does not have many motels. They will social distance as best as possible and most meals will be grab and go. LA does currently have a mask mandate if you are in close proximity to others.
MS will not be able to accommodate 1 man per room so they plan on 2 per room and will group crews from the same coops in those rooms.
Please let us know how many crews you are willing and able to send to MS or LA if your coop is not affected.
We will probably determine logistics and placements of the crews on Monday unless Ida speeds up and we need to on Sunday. Please monitor your email this weekend just in case. Thanks!!
Thanks.
Sincerely,
