Subject: AUTHORIZATION FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE VEHICLES TO BYPASS WEIGH STATION FACILITIES IN RESPONSE TO TROPICAL STORM LAURA and TROPICAL STORM LAURA
Effective immediately, emergency response vehicles such as, but not limited to, utility vehicles, bucket trucks, and electric utility supply trucks responding to Tropical Storm Laura and Tropical Storm Marco are given authorization to bypass all FDOT weigh station facilities thru August 25, 2020. This authorization does not include vehicles that require permits to operate on Florida's roadways. This authorization does not relieve size and weight restrictions. This bypass letter only applies weigh stations and to vehicles traveling in convoy.
This effort has been coordinated with personnel with the Florida Highway Patrol and the Department of Agriculture to expedite emergency response.
