OSHA publishes an Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking “Heat Injury and Illness Prevention in Outdoor and Indoor Work Settings”
The October 27, 2021 Federal Register contains OSHA’s Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR) to gather information on the extent and nature of hazardous heat as well as existing interventions and controls to prevent heat related injury and illness. The ANOPR contains 82 questions.

Doug Parker Confirmed as OSHA Administrator
California Division of Occupational Safety and Health chief Doug Parker was approved as OSHA administrator by the U.S. Senate on October 25. Parker will be the first Senate-confirmed administrator to lead OSHA since January of 2017. Parker served in the Obama Administration as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy in the Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration.
