Good afternoon -On Feb 27, the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) held a public hearing regarding the availability of, and process for accessing, federal money for grid resiliency projects. The hearing lasted about 30 minutes, and attached is the PPT that they presented. In sum, FDEM will be applying for ~$30m from DOE (for 2022/23 funds, more available for 2024-26), and then will request and process applications from eligible recipients, including grid/storage operators, electricity generators, transmission owners, distribution providers, and fuel suppliers. As with other recent federal grant programs, the requirements under NEPA and Build America, Buy America could apply. FDEM will be releasing more information regarding the application form/s and process in the coming months. The FDEM contact person is Berenice Hernandez Avila, (850) 559-4601, Berenice.Hernandez@em.myflorida.com<mailto:Berenice.Hernandez@em.myflorida.com>.
