If you were unable to attend the NRECA/NRTC Broadband Map Challenge Project the slides from the presentation are attached and there are dates and information below that you may be interested in.
For those of you that were on the webinar, the third way to challenge the FCC maps, besides NRECA’s “polygon” method and reaching out to your membership to respond, was to have your state’s Office of Broadband challenge the maps. I contacted the Director of Florida’s Office of Broadband, Katie Smith to see if Florida would be challenging the maps and her response is below:
“The Florida Office of Broadband will be submitting speed tests collected through the map on the Broadband website, but will not otherwise file a formal challenge. We are strongly encouraging our communities and residents to review and challenge the maps, using the FCC speed tests.”
I forwarded this to Brian O’Hara at NRECA for his information.
