Employee Reimbursement from the FECA Disaster Relief Fund Michelle Hershel 21 Nov 2022 21:25 UTC
Good afternoon - We have almost $185,000 in the FECA Disaster Relief Fund (Fund) and donations continue to come in. If you have employees who sustained damages to essential personal property due to Hurricane Ian and may be in need of short -term assistance, you can apply for reimbursement from the Fund. Below you will see the required documentation that each co-op must provide to FECA. Items 2 & 4 below just need a short, simple explanation such as: "Cooperative informed all employees about the establishment of the DRF and all requested reimbursements were considered and approved if the Cooperative determined the costs were reasonable. There is no relationship or conflict of interest between the employee/recipient and officers, directors, or contributors to the Fund."

I have attached a Payout Template that SECO Energy used in the past. Please feel free to use this template when you send your information back to FECA. The employee reimbursement requests must be returned to FECA by COB, Friday, February 10, 2023. Once we receive the requests, FECA's Executive Committee will have the ultimate authority to approve or disapprove a disbursement of funds to each member- cooperative. The Executive Committee's decision will be based on the majority vote of its members either in person or via e-mail.
