FEMA increases threshold for PA Small Projects Michelle Hershel 29 Aug 2022 18:42 UTC
Good afternoon - below is a link to an article written by the law firm of Baker Donelson (specializes in FEMA related claims) which advises that FEMA has recently revised its regulations regarding the Pubic Assistance (PA) program by updating the monetary threshold when using simplified procedures for small projects. FEMA categorizes each grant award as either a small or large project, which is determined by a monetary threshold set each year by FEMA pursuant to statute. FEMA has determined that it would increase the simplified procedures threshold from $132,800 to $1 million. This will dramatically increase the number of projects that will be considered "small projects" and thereby decrease the administrative burden on recipients and subrecipients during the PA process.
