Subject: FEMA raises small project threshold to $1 million
Yesterday FEMA announced that it is raising the small project threshold under the Public Assistance program from $132,800 to $1 million. The change is effective August 3, and FEMA is requesting comments, due October 3, on the change.
Raising the threshold means that more projects will be based on estimates, will have decreased documentation requirements and reduced need for final reconciliation of costs.
I plan to submit comments supporting the change and welcome your input to those comments.
The Federal Register notice announcing the change is attached.
Thank you,
Martha
