Attached is a memo from NRECA that provides some valuable information about rules pertaining to the federal ACRE program.  Please let us know if there are any issues that need further clarification.  Note that these rules do not pertain to Florida ACRE, but you probably should remit any funds to Florida ACRE using a similar timeline.

Subject: Rules on Collecting & Forwarding ACRE Contributions

Dear ACRE® Contacts and Communicators,

I hope you are doing well!  With the end of the 2015 ACRE Year just under a month away, I wanted to send a reminder about rules and regulations regarding collecting and forwarding ACRE contributions.

Attached is a document the ACRE Team put together in collaboration with our Finance Team that:

1)      Details the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) requirements for collecting and forwarding ACRE contributions under specific time frames

2)      Includes co-op specific examples to help clarify these rules

3)      Describes the ins and outs of the ACRE Template that helps co-ops provide supporting documentation for ACRE contributions

In particular, I wanted to highlight the section on the FEC-required time frames for forwarding ACRE contributions and records, as we want to encourage full compliance with these FEC procedures.

Please review the attached.  Should you need further assistance or more detailed instructions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (703) 907-5826 or at mike.whelan@nreca.coop

Thanks for your continued help and support of the ACRE program.  We really appreciate all of your efforts to maintain ACRE’s sterling reputation as a top 50 federal PAC.

Best,

Mike
